if, IF we got new owners
Barring a time machine to take us back to right all GSB’s wrongs, apart from spend money on players just exactly what would you want the new owners to do?

Atb Trev gets my vote

When I first read about the signage thought 'thats corny'...but actually, on second thoughts think it's brilliant.

That family thing, that's s great shout.

Take a trip to Germany and take note:
Cheap tickets
Cheap booze
Safe standing
Fan parks outside

Re: if, IF we got new owners
It does amuse me that some on here think the club owe all the local businesses from around Upton Park something.

All those businesses benefited from West Ham for many years not the other way round. You can't have a business that just relies on a football club playing 22 times a year on your doorstep to survive.

Have a nice line of claret and blue ambulances, with "away support" signage.

Agtastic idea but the days of West Ham being an intimidating place are loooong gone

Re: if, IF we got new owners
So if we had to stay at the LS, I'd build purpose built units along the walkway and invite the cafes, pubs and chippies etcfrom the Boleyn Ground surroundings to come and ply their trade

I'd remove the poncey food and drink trailers outside the stadium.

I'd remove the catering company from inside the ground

I'd discount the price of a pint

I'd install tvs everywhere for the fans

I'd install proper seating, not scaffolding

I'd make mascots free

Programmes would be free

I'd look to install safe standing

I'd place a fixed price for shirts to last 5 years, 30 quid

I'd have decent pre and ht entertainment

I'd bring all Ex Hammers in to the club, make them feel part of the club again

Not fucking hard is it?

The current cunts in charge are fixated by costs, they have no desire to cater for the average fan,

This is entirely down to Brady, she is trying to change our demograohic

So the reality here is EVERYTHING they do is done on the cheap

Really surprised they have got away with it for so long

Re: if, IF we got new owners
Where do you even start, really.

Top to bottom changes, from the youth team structure, the training facilities, the scouting network, the backroom staff, the manager, the first team squad, the stadium.

The whole club needs to change.

bill, not sure if you've got netflix but there's a documentary series on there following juventus for a season called 'first team'. that trio of cunts should study every episode to get an idea about how to run a professional outfit properly

Re: if, IF we got new owners
Being our new owners would be pretty easy. Just not being the old owners would mean they are more loved.

A few easy wins, like removing ‘London’ from the badge and allowing David Moyes on the coach home after sacking him, would show that they are different.

Depending on money available, a new ground for football would be amazing - but let’s face it, unlikely. So owning the London Stadium, making changes where possible to make it fit for football, making it West Ham. Get some of the old places around Upton Park to have food stalls there, Nathan’s, etc.

New training ground is a huge expense, but needed.

A scouting network larger than 1 scout and the relying on agents.

A football mindset that goes through the whole club, from kids through to first team. Every time a a manager leaves no matter what age group, they are replaced with someone with the same philosophy.

Get rid of popcorn stalls.

AG

GreenStreetPlayer has it right. Don't build another stadium ,build a proper Fortress.

No Twitter from the board.

Return The Academy of Football by first class academy and training facilities, and fill with quality prospects.

A transparent scouting mission/policy

Support and invest in safe standing projects.

Sack Moyes. Replace with Pellegrini.

Make Di Canio the assistant manager.

... results wise I would like the outcome of that to be we are a top ten club that has a serious go at winning a cup each year and qualifies for Europe every other year and gives that a proper go as well.

Re: if, IF we got new owners
1. Install someone with experience of managing an international sporting business which is what Premier League clubs now are

2. Invest in infrastructure of the club so we have a training ground, academy facilities, coaching staff, ticket office, scouting system that rivals those of clubs like Leicester or Spurs

3. Ensure there is a clear vision of what the playing side of the business should be so that if Manager X is sacked then Manager Y can be appointed without having to change the entire system and team

4. Commit to building a football stadium

Re: if, IF we got new owners
I would like them to reinstate the ethos of the club that I started supporting 40+ years ago. That is we stick together no matter what and get behind our team hero and villains alike. We are all west ham and everyone on the pitch and in the stadium is part of a big family. Indeed, I would like them to put up a sign in the stadium that says 'The Game is about Family' as a dig to the Spurs 'the game is about glory' sign and show what we stand for.

The playing style is to hurt the opposition at every given opportunity. None of this cagey playing "not to lose" rubbish. However the team battles for the ball and is organized out of possession. The team is to be based on passing ability, not hoofing ability.

The recruitment is to be based on finding players that want play for the club and join "the family" first and foremost. Based on a good scouting network that finds players with the right character. Many of these players will come from the Academy too. Any player that wants to leave can do so, but if our best\\promising players don't want to leave, don't sell them for any price.

I want us to be established enough to not have to worry about relegation each season and to have enough of a squad to compete properly in cups and have a dart at European football most seasons.

Do that and you'd unite the club again.
